Class Summary

Soil Classification - This workshop is designed to introduce people to the new soil survey products available and their use. Basic soil survey concepts will be reviewed including soil map unit design and soil properties and interpretations useful for assessment. The National Resources Conservation Service (NRCS)'s web soil survey will be highlighted but other innovated products will be introduced.
 
Speaker Background
After Graduating in 1997 from the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point with a degree in soil science, Mr. Turk began to work for the Natural Resources conservation Service as a soil scientist. He worked for 8 years out of Ashland, WI on the Ashland, Bayfield, Douglas and Iron county soil surveys. From there He moved to Stevens Point in a position working with soil data and it's use.
