Introduction to SPSS for Assessors
Presented by Robert Gloudemans

Class Summary

SPSS (the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is the most popular general purpose software among assessors for conducting market analyses, including descriptive statistics, graphical analysis, sales ratios, and multiple regression modeling.  This session will describe what SPSS is (and is not) and the role SPSS can play in an assessor’s office.  It will demonstrate use of SPSS for summarizing data, plotting and graphing market relationships (e.g., land curves and depreciation), conducting sales ratio analyses, and building a basic multiple regression model.  No prior exposure to the software is assumed.
