Understanding and Working with the Different Generations in the
Workplace
For the
first time in history there are 4 different generations working side
by side. Each generation assumes the others will want what they want
and share their definition of success. They also believe the next
generation should “pay their dues” the same way they did to earn
their success. They also think the following generation has had it
easier (“when I was your age…”, “you’ll never have to work as hard
as I had to”). At times these generational differences have created
problems in the workplace. In this program we will:
•
Look at what makes us tick
•
Profile the 4 major generations in the workplace
•
Discuss some strategies for working more effectively
with each group
•
Discuss some do’s and don’ts for dealing with the
generations |
