WAAO EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING

Report from December 9, 2004 Local Host Committee

 

Committee members met the meeting planner and fundraising coordinators that had been approved for hire March 2004.  Kris Martinsek and Mike Dawson

 

Kris and Mike reviewed the planning that has occurred for the various events along with an initial budget. 

 

Current plans include:

  1. Golf outing – scheduled for Sunday, October 8, 2006 at Washington County Golf Course – contract is signed.
  2. Sunday, October 8, 2006 opening reception.  Committee agreed to have a 1st choice of Pier Wisconsin, but due to uncertainty regarding availability agreed to hold the Art Museum as well.
  3. Monday, October 9, 2006 opening ceremony.  Committee agreed on a diversity theme to include a procession of flags by each country that has IAAO members.
  4. Monday, October 9, 2006 membership appreciation event.  This is the main locally sponsored event.  Committee agreed to have this take place at the Milwaukee Public Museum using the European Village and other areas featuring ethnic food vendors and finishing off with a band and dancing in the Museum’s atrium.
  5. Tuesday, October 10, 2006 free night – Committee will have a host of options researched for IAAO members.

 

An initial draft of the budget was approved.

 

The conference slogan was selected – this will not be official until after our next meeting.
