Peter Weissenfluh and Daniel Furdek from the City of Milwaukee both received the honor for their collaborative effort on “Applying Logic….Billboard Valuations”, which was published in Journal of Property Tax Vol. 7 Issue 1 2010. In addition to the above, Mr. Weissenfluh was also given the award for his work on “Foreclosure Sales….” which was published in IAAO Magazine Vol. 8#3.

Scott Winter, of the Milwaukee Assessor's Office, won IAAO's 2009 Distinguished Research and Development Award at the IAAO's 75th anniversary conference in Louisville, KY. Scott earned this award for his collaboration on a paper written as part of IAAO's Research Team. The other authors were William Wadsworth of Clearwater Florida, Gary McCabe of Brookline Massachusetts, and August Dettbarn of Shawnee Kansas. Together they authored "A Guide to Foreclosure-Related Sales and Verification Procedures." The article can be found on the front page of www.iaao.org.

 Scott presented two different sessions on the topic at this year's IAAO conference. One was "Foreclosures in Cook County and Other Large Jurisdictions" with the Chicago staff. The other presentation was with Bob Gloudemans and Richard Almy entitled, "Foreclosures: Coping with Limited Market Data." Scott also was recently a part of an IAAO webinar on the same topic. He will be presenting on the subject at WAAO's next quarterly meeting in December.

Gregg Hagopian received this award for the best article on technical innovations in assessment or property tax administration.

Wayne Ballweg, CAE received this award for the best essay on assessment, property tax administration, or policy.

The City of Milwaukee received this award for being the jurisdiction that developed and implemented an effective system for the dissemination to taxpayers on information regarding the assessment process.

Carol Kuehn received this award for being the the IAAO member who, after a period of years , made a significant contribution to the IAAO through participation in its activities, and who made an outstanding contribution to the realization of the mission of the IAAO.

The City of Milwaukee received this award for being the assessment jurisdiction that has developed an implemented an effective system for the dissemination to taxpayers , information regarding the assessment process.

 Waukesha County Technical College received this award for providing a technical, procedural or administrative program that provided improvement over prior programs, and was generally recognized as a component of a model assessment system and for contributing factor for equity in property taxation.

Ronald D Lehner received this award for recruiting the most members for IAAO during the previous year.

Julie Penman received this award for making a significant contribution to the association through active participation in its activities and who, in her career, has made an outstanding contribution to the realization of the mission of the IAAO.

 Bernard W. Saler CAE received this award for being the member who most effectively promoted the interests and mission of the IAAO Professional Designation Program.

 Robert L. Miller, CAE received this award for the best essay on assessment, property tax administration, or policy.

 Leonard B. Krueger, received this award for the best essay on assessment, property tax administration, or policy.
