Update on NCRAAO 2000-Cedar

I recently spoke with one of the representatives from the Iowa chapter of NCRAAO. She stated the following information relative to the June 10-14 Conference:
General Conference
Information:

All plans
are progressing on schedule
·
Registration
packets will be mailed in Mid February
·
All
committees are working very hard to keep all costs down so attendance can be high
·
550
participants are expected (This is the 25th anniversary for NCRAAO)
·
Excellent
Hotel accommodations will be provided by Cedar Rapids Five Seasons Hotel-Crowne Plaza
Very Good education
program is planned
1. There
will be on site inspections of residential and commercial properties. Afterward, the major
contractors will be coming back to the hotel for a question and answer period
2. There
will be a session on hiring & firing- (Federal Regulations)
3. Captain
Al Horner-pilot of air liner that crashed in Iowa-will present 1.5 hour slide show about
the experience
Lots of Extracurricular
Activities planned:
1. Sunday-Golf
Tournament (for the golfers)/Grant Wood art tour/festival (for others)
2. Walk
to several activities in downtown area
3. Silent
auction to raise funds for scholarship fund
4. Monday
night- Ushers Ferry-old ferry crossing now it is a pioneer village, Iowa pork chop dinner,
brass band, civil war re-enactment, fireworks
5. Lots
of activities planned for spouses
